Developer & maker — Auckland, NZ
I build things with intention, restraint, and an eye for what can be cut without losing the soul of the thing.
About Me
I'm Calyndrae — a developer who builds for the web and treats code a little like writing: say what you mean, cut what you don't, and leave it cleaner than you found it.
I work mostly in JavaScript, HTML, CSS and Python, but I'm happiest with a foot in unfamiliar territory — an illustration one week, a Minecraft mod or a Discord bot the next.
Lately I'm building Chrome extensions and designing websites, chasing interfaces that feel effortless to use.
How I Work
Every feature not shipped is a line not written. I treat the decision not to build as a design act — one that demands more courage than adding.
A variable named x is a lie. Code that says what it means is code that can be trusted, reviewed, and changed without fear.
Details aren't polish — they're the thing. The transition 20ms too slow, the padding 2px off. These are the choices that show whether you cared.
